Numerous articles can make up and Indian suit. Let’s have closer look what some of these are.
Saree
The saree is probably the most iconic piece of Indian fashion. Swathes of material are draped around the body and sculpted into a beautiful dress. The saree material can be anything up to about 12 metres in length and is usually extremely decorative.
Choli
Essentially the choli is a blouse that is worn with a skirt or under a saree. The choli is cropped to reveal the stomach area and they usually also have a very low back. These two things plus short sleeves make for a very cool piece of clothing to help guard against the summer heat.
Kurta
The kurta can be worn by men and women. It is a loose fitting, collarless shirt that usually extends down to the knees. They can be worn with a pair of churidar trousers or over jeans for a more modern look.
Churidar trousers
Churidar trousers are very wide around the gusset but they drastically narrow in towards the ankle. There are a number of other types of trousers that can be worn as part of an Indian suit such as flared trousers and even a straight leg.
